Mel ponders, it is getting late and she is worn out. |
Mel is sleepy, surely it's time to go to bed? Under the covers in the human bed, just this once? |
Mel does not wish to pose for the camera. |
Really, please. She does not want to pose for the camera. |
She is an old girl, and she just wants to cuddle up and have a nap. |
I love my bunnies, but they are not really people persons. In fact, I don't believe that they even like me. Though she is now in the custody of Jenny, due to my lack of house and back yard, Mel loves me most (except for when food or my brother are around). I don't even notice now that she is skin and bone, and makes a funny wheeze when she is sleeping. I only notice how comfortable it is to nestle with her on the couch, and how she stays very still when she thinks you don't know she is under the doona cover, and her puppy dog paws tapping on the tiles...
My girl is getting on in years and I am going to miss her so very much when she is gone.
I haven't quite given up on gardening. Yet. Between the bunnies, a particularly voracious bird ad by tendency to forget about watering though, it's not an easy pastime.
I have managed to keep this pink cyclamen alive for a few months now. But.. as the weather has warmed up, the leaves have slowly started to yellow and get lanky, and the flowers are gone gone gone. I'm starting to think that, like tulips and the rose bush I experimented with earlier in the year, this is another plant that should be enjoyed temporarily and replaced annually. It's not that much more expensive than buying bunches from the florist...

It used to be that my idea of a dream date was an evening spent wandering the aquarium. I mean, think about it, it's dark and mysterious, and if things start to get awkward, there are lots of other things to look at.
Like jellyfish, and hermit crabs, and trained cuttlefish, and seals that talk. It really is quite wonderful.
Rob and my first date night was a trip to the aquarium. I'd like to say that it was his idea, unprompted, but that would be a lie. And I'm not sure how he felt when he saw first hand how excited I get when I see penguins. I think maybe that I pushed a little kid out of my way to get to the penguin window.
Stupid kid.
